About

Passion. Experience. Diligence.

History

Peeter Kivestu developed analytics instincts in the crucible of airline deregulation, when players such as American Airlines faced existential threats every day from new upstart carriers. Analytics then was about profitability improvement, bringing novel data strategy approaches to fuel efficiency, fleet management, and hub structure. But the analytic muscle developed there quickly emerged as even more potent on the revenue side, leading to analytics innovations in yield management, frequent flyer, and pre-Internet e-commerce.

Now with over 35 years of experience in airlines, transportation, military logistics, smart cities and public sector transportation, Peeter’s experience in analytics spans use cases in revenue and customer management, user experience and asset maintenance. He has seen it from both sides: in roles as an executive in global business, finance, marketing, operations and information technology, and as a consultant to global business at Teradata, a company that arguably founded data analytics, and had American Airlines as its first travel industry customer.

Analytics is for any business that wants to improve, but is especially valuable to companies that face competitive threats now or proactively want to get ahead of competitive threats in the future. These are lessons learned from the airline business, one of the most brutally competitive, and analytics-driven, of all industries.
